About 400 homes and businesses in Dime Box were without electricity for up to six hours after a big rig failed to negotiate the “S curve” and snapped a utility pole in half last week Tuesday morning at 11:35 a.m. Some homeowners only had to suffer the outage for three hours before power was restored, but others and local businesses were out of electricity for nearly six hours.
