Earl Wayne Griffith, 83, of Lexington died on Monday, December 30, 2019 at his home in Lexington. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 10:00 am on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Adina Christian Church in Adina. Burial will follow at Adina Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 5-7 pm on Friday, January 10 at Adina Christian Church.
Earl was born on February 20, 1936 to Elzer Emmett Griffith and Dainty Mae Simmons in Shiloh, Texas. On February 3, 1960, he married Jo Ann Haggard in Elgin. They spent 54 years together until her death on May 6, 2014. Earl was a teacher in public schools. He was also a cattle rancher and hard worker. He was very well known and was a great storyteller. His favorite thing was being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn “Granny” Griffith; his parents, Elzer Emmett and Dainty Mae (Simmons) Griffith; his brother, Bud Griffith; and sister, Mary Farmer.
Earl is survived by his sons, Darrell Griffith and wife Kellie of Lexington, and Terry Griffith and wife Johnna of Lexington; his daughter, Kimberly Malkey and husband Edward of Warsaw, Missouri; grandchildren, Bryan Griffith, Savannah Griffith, Timmy Griffith, Destiny Griffith, Michael Griffith, Tracy Pillack and husband Eric, Jackie King and husband Daniel, and Jessica Malkey; great grandchildren, Tristan Griffith, Natalie Griffith, Ashton King, Trevor King, Morgan King, Katelyn Pillack, Beau Pillack, Coylton Malkey, Bryson Duncan, and Fayth Duncan.
