JV Buffs defeated by Leopards 39-26

The Giddings JV boys basketball team started district play against La Grange on Friday, Jan.17.

The rivalry game between the schools was shaping up to be a good one as they entered the 4th quarter tied at 21. However, La Grange outscored Giddings 18 to 5 in the 4th quarter to give the Buffs their first loss of district play as they were defeated 39-26.

COMEBACK WIN -- For the second week in a row, the Kansas City Chiefs came from behind to pull out a victory, and this time it was a 35-24 win over the Tennessee Titans in the AFC title game to advance to the Super Bowl.

GHS Buffalo soccer update

The boys varsity soccer team defeated Rockdale last Tuesday 6-0. Goals were scored by Pablo Ontiveros (2), Anthony Medina (2), Dalton Kasmiersky (1), and John Angel-Llamas (1).

Assists on goals were Anthony Medina (2), Juan Tello (1), Fernando Gonzales (1), Jesus Orocio (1), and Edgar Sanchez (1).

Goalkeeper Victor Regalado had 8 saves.

THE GHS LADY BUFFS

THE GHS LADY BUFFS soccer team won the championship for the annual Iron Horse Invitational tournament. They outscored their opponents 20-0 during the 3-day tournament, and wrapped up the championship match with a 2-0 victory over La Grange on Saturday morning.
