GHS freshmen lose to Hornets

The Giddings Freshman football team lost to the Caldwell Hornets last week 20-6.

George Awad scored the lone touchdown on a pass from Andreu Rodriguez early in the game.

“We were a little banged up,” said Coach Sean Hollis, “and we had some key players miss this game. We are hoping to get them back soon and keep improving as a team across the board.”

JARON DENMON (#34) takes a facemask (not called) but returns the favor with a good stiff-arm. Denmon rushed for 81 yards and a TD on 8 carries against the Hornets last Friday night.

CHAD ADAMS

CHAD ADAMS (#3) gets in on a tackle despite being held from behind. Adams and two other unidentified Buffaloes caused a fumble on this play. Adams had 5 tackles on the night including one sack. On the offensive side, he carried 8 times for 24 yards.

DRAKE MOORE

DRAKE MOORE (#25) pulled in this pass in the corner of the endzone for a 2-point conversion. Moore also had a 20 yard reception against the Hornets.

ALEX DE LA TORRE (#11) hurdles a teammate (#25, Cody Gill) during one of his 6 carries against Caldwell last Friday night. De La Torre rushed for only 12 yards, but hit 5 for 12 for 101 yards and 2 TDs in the air.
